Albany International Airport is dedicated to ensuring accessibility for all. Through our services and ongoing efforts, we have achieved Level 3 in ACI World's Accessibility Enhancement Accreditation. Our airport is the first in the United States to achieve such a high standard of accessibility.

Curb Cutouts

The edges of sidewalks, curb cutouts, and Pedestrian crossings are all clearly marked and accessible.

Elevators

All our building levels are accessible by elevator as well as our parking garages.

Automatic Doors

Albany International Airport is equipped with automatic doors that allow for ease of access.

Accessible drinking water fountains.

Accessible Restrooms

Accessible restrooms and family restrooms with syringe disposal.

Accessible Telephones

Wheelchair accessible telephones.

Accessible Parking

Accessible parking lots and garages dedicated for people who have mobility issues.

Shuttle Bus w/ Wheelchair Lift

The airport shuttle buses are fitted with a hydraulic lift at the back of the bus, to facilitate people traveling with a wheelchair.

Self-service Kiosks

Most airlines have accessible self-service kiosks.

Airport Ambassadors

Albany International Airport Ambassadors are here to help all passengers. Our Ambassadors are found throughout the terminal.

Mobility Assistance

Wheelchair and mobility assistance is provided by your airline.  Prearrange with your airline at least 48 hours in advance.

AIRA App

AIRA app, a visual interpretation service to navigate the airport is available for free in partnership with Albany International Airport.  Download the app on your smartphone through Google Play or the Apple App Store.

Service Animals

Service animals are welcome. We have pet relief areas inside on the B concourse and outside near Baggage Claim. For special arrangements to travel with your pet, click here.

Mobile Flight Notifications

Mobile flight notifications are available on most airlines mobile apps.  Contact your airline for details.

Security Screening

Security screening is the responsibility of the TSA.  For information regarding TSA procedures for people with special needs, visit our special procedures page or our special needs page and or visit the TSA cares website.

Therapy Dogs

Our Ambassador volunteers walk the concourses with therapy dogs to ease stress and anxiety for passengers.

Ground Transportation

Services includes Taxi van, Uber, Lyft, Public bus, CDTA.

Paging

Paging is available from any airline counter or the info desks.

Rental Cars with Hand Controls

Rental cars with hand controls. Advance notice required. Services include Avis, Budget, & Hertz.

Sunflower Lanyards

Sunflower lanyards are available at the info desk for passengers who have hidden disabilities.

Nursing Centers

The Airport offers nursing centers and lactation pods for mothers with babies.

Hearing Impairment

Sign language interpreters, communication access real-time transcription, assistive listening devices, or other auxiliary aids and/or services may be provided upon request
