Here at Albany International Airport, an indoor room in the airport terminal has been specially designed to accommodate passengers travelling with service and emotional support animals. It is located on the lower section of the B terminal and is accessible by elevator. This area is open to uses to not only passengers travelling with service and emotional support animals but also law enforcement dogs, emotional support animals and the Albany Airport therapy dogs.
The Albany International airport is one of the airports across the country that has Airports Therapy Dogs to help passengers distress. These dogs are all about being touched, their handlers position themselves throughout the airport, from check-in to boarding wherever passengers can use some calming canine love. The teams typically remain stationary in an open area so those who wish to greet the dogs can do so. The Canine Crew Provides Coverage daily between the hours of 9am to 3pm. The program is staffed by volunteer teams.
