Albany International Airport Partners with Pointr to Launch Innovative App-Free Indoor Navigation

ALBANY, NY (August 19, 2024) – On National Aviation Day, Albany International Airport (ALB) announced it will become the first airport in North America to introduce next-generation instant passenger wayfinding. This reliable, passenger friendly, app-free indoor navigation technology enhances the passenger experience and enables the airport to engage directly with travelers and better understand terminal and concession usage.

This innovative “App Clip”, known as Pointr Express, revolutionizes airport navigation by providing instant access to real-time wayfinding through QR codes, iMessages, or links. Passengers can easily locate shops, restaurants, and even their parked vehicles with the "Mark My Car" feature.

The technology's introduction is particularly timely during the airport's ongoing construction phase, and the implementation of this instant wayfinding solution ensures passengers can navigate temporary routes effortlessly from parking to check-in to gate.
