Albany International Airport to Increase Parking Rates in January

Adjustment Will Help Maintain Popular Parking Facilities & Support Continued Commitment to Enhancing Passenger Experience

ALBANY, NY (December 24, 2024) – Albany International Airport (ALB) today announced that daily parking rates at its economy shuttle lot, long-term lots, and north and south parking garages will increase incrementally for the first time in five years, on Jan. 1, 2025.

The new rates are:

·      North and South Garage Parking - $18.00 per day

·      Long-Term Parking Lots - $12.00 per day

·      Economy Shuttle Lot - $7.00 per day

·      There will be no change to the current short-term parking lot rate which is $24.00 per day.

Daily parking rates for ALB’s long-term lots and two parking garages have remained flat since 2019, when they went up $1. The same $1 increase was applied to the daily parking rate for the Economy Shuttle Lot in 2021.

The decision to revisit ALB’s parking payment structure was guided by Walker Consultants, which was retained by the Airport in October 2024 to conduct a careful analysis and study of comparably sized airports in New York and New England. The study ultimately determined that ALB’s parking rates have not kept up with either inflation or rates charged by comparable facilities.

With nearly 3 million air travelers passing through ALB annually, the study noted that a modest increase in daily parking rates would help offset rising expenses and ensure the Airport could continue to prioritize the passenger experience. Areas where this offset will be realized include shuttle service, parking facilities’ maintenance, and capital expenditures.

“Albany International Airport’s parking facilities provides our passengers with some of the most accessible and convenient options, regardless of the length of their trip,” said Steve Smith, Director of Communications at Albany International Airport. “We’re confident the new rates will allow the Airport to build upon its many successes and ensure passengers can continue to have a world-class airport that they can be proud of.”

Please note that passengers who parked their vehicles at Albany International Airport prior to January 1, 2025, but are returning after rates increase, will be charged at the original rate when they exit the parking area.
