AIRPORT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN – ELECTRICAL / COMMUNICATIONS

Vacancies currently exists in the Airfield Maintenance Department for the position of Airport Maintenance Technician – Electrical / Communications.

Summary:  Installs, repairs and maintains communication, computer, camera and security access wiring and related equipment.  Assist Airport Maintenance Manager with other duties as assigned.

Duties:  Duties include:  Responds to work orders and emergency requests to move, change, install, repair, remove or terminate data and communication lines and equipment such as computers, networks, cameras, access pads, and telephones. Plans layouts and installation of data and communication lines and equipment. Reads technical manuals to learn correct settings for equipment. Modifies equipment in accordance with user requests and factory directives. Connects microcomputers or terminals to data communication lines.  Troubleshoots, tests and maintains various systems to ensure proper operation.  Enters commands into computer to test equipment and/or program services.  Assists in the preparation and review of floor plans, blue prints and schematics.  Advises Airport Maintenance Manager of needed equipment and supplies.  Operates lifts and a wide variety of hand tools.  Assists Airport Maintenance Manager in other duties as assigned.  Participates in training as required.  Participates in Total Quality Management Programs.

Skills required:  Applicant must possess an Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or five years experience in the telecommunication field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must possess a valid NYS driver’s license. Wage:             $23.85/hr – $26.19/hr range

AIRPORT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN - GLYCOL PROCESS OPERATOR (Full Time)

A vacancy currently exists in the Airfield Maintenance Department for the position of Airport Maintenance Technician – Glycol Process Operator.

Summary:  Performs a wide variety of tasks involved in the operation of the deicing storm water collection, containment and treatment systems on a daily basis.

Duties include: start, stop, change pumps & valves; reports emergencies and/or unusual conditions; assist in recording & adjustments of the storm water collection, containment and treatment system; monitors localized equipment for proper operation; plows ramp areas and airside roadways; operates glycol collection equipment in cleaning ramp areas.

Skills required:  Applicant must possess a high school diploma or GED or one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education & experience.  Must possess a valid NYS driver’s license and must be able to obtain a CDL, Class B license within ninety days of employment and be proficient in forklift or other heavy equipment operation.  Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment physical, drug screening, background check and must meet and maintain Federal security requirements for access into operations areas.

CASHIER – Part Time

Vacancies exist in the Commercial Services Department for the entry level position of cashier.

Summary:  Receives cash and credit card payments from parking patrons at the Airport.

Duties include:  cash drawer accountability; assist parking patrons; conducts inventory & security checks of parking lots; provides quality customer service.

Skills Required: Applicants must possess a valid NYS driver’s license and a high school diploma or GED.  Prior cashier/customer service experience preferred.  Must be flexible for shift work, all days, including holidays.  Employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre- employment physical, drug screening and background checks.

Airport Maintenance Technician – Electrician (Full Time)

A vacancy currently exist in the Airfield Maintenance Department for the position of Airport Maintenance Technician – Electrician.

Summary:  Repairs and maintains airport electrical systems, components associated with the airport environment and facilities.

Duties:  Duties include repairs and services various airport electrical systems; troubleshoots and repairs electric control circuits;  routinely inspects electrical systems and equipment;  assure installations are consistent with drawing & specifications, local and national codes; attend various training.

Skills required:  Applicant must possess a two year degree in electrical construction & maintenance with an additional three years of work experience; or five year trade school with journeyman certification; or high school diploma or GED with five years experience as a commercial or industrial electrician and must possess a valid NYS driver’s license.  Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment physical, drug screening, background check and must meet and maintain Federal security requirements for access into operations areas.

PARKING ASSISTANT LEAD (Full Time)

A vacancy currently exists in the Commercial Services Department for the position of Parking Assistant Lead.

Summary:  Performs a wide variety of tasks involved in repairing and maintaining parking equipment and maintaining cleanliness and order in the public and private parking lots at the Airport by performing the following duties.

Skills required include:  Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED and prior experience in general maintenance. Must possess a valid New York State driver’s license, CDL Class B as condition of employment. Must be flexible for shift work.  Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment physical, drug screening, background check and must meet and maintain Federal security requirements for access into operations areas. 

Duties include: Inspects facilities on a continuous basis to determine maintenance needs, Provides supervisor with lists of items requiring maintenance, repair or replacement.  Stocks ticket dispensers, keeps parking lots & booth areas free of trash; performs janitorial duties in parking lots and buildings; general maintenance of comfort station & bus shelters; snow removal to include plowing & shoveling; operates maintenance equipment; maintains landscaped areas of collector bldg., toll booths, parking lots and buildings. LEAD RESPONSIBILITES include: Transmits instructions, work assignments and other orders from Supervisor to Parking Maintenance Workers. AIRPORT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN – VEHICLE AND EQUIPMENT MECHANIC

Vacancies currently exist in the Airfield Maintenance Department for the position of Airport Maintenance Technician – Vehicle and Equipment Mechanic.

Summary:  Performs a wide variety of tasks involved in repairing and maintaining electric, diesel, and gasoline powered vehicle and equipment by performing the following duties.

Duties:  Duties include:  Notifies and coordinates routine and non-routine repairs and maintenance with the Lead Vehicle and Equipment Mechanic. Read job and/or preventive maintenance orders and observes and listens to vehicles/equipment in operation to determine malfunction and to plan work procedures.  Performs routine and non-routine inspection and maintenance on Airport vehicles and equipment.  Disassembles units such as engines, transmissions, or differentials and inspects parts for wear; overhauls and /or replaces engines and transmissions; repairs/recharges or replaces parts such as batteries pistons, rods, gears, valves and bearings; overhauls or replaces carburetors, blowers, generators, distributors, starters and pumps; rebuilds parts such as crankshafts and cylinder blocks; rewires or installs new ignition systems, lights, and instrument panes; relines and adjusts brakes, aligns front ends, repairs or replaces shock absorbers, and solders leaks in radiators; mends damaged body and fender parts; replaces and adjusts headlights and installs and repairs accessories such as radios, heaters, mirrors and windshield wipers; examines protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on vehicles, and makes adjustments; lubricates moving parts and drives repaired vehicles to verify conformance to specifications. Inspects tools and equipment on a regular basis to ensure operational safety; attends various training session; performs routine shop keeping duties in order to ensure a safe hazard free work environment.

Skills required:  Applicant must possess a High school diploma or general education degree (GED); minimum of three years experience in the repair and maintenance of light trucks and diesel equipment.  Must be qualified on stick and mig welding; have computer tune up experience and knowledge of fuel injector and hydraulic systems.  Must possess a valid New York State Driver’s C.D.L., Class B, License. FACILITIES MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN – HVAC

A vacancy currently exists in the Facilities Maintenance Department for the entry level position of facility maintenance HVAC technician.

Duties include:   Performs daily operational checks of HVAC systems and BAS controls and reports deficiencies.  Maintains, performs and assists in routine maintenance and repairs.  Documents repairs and preventive maintenance work.  Troubleshoots problems  and makes adjustments using both main computer terminal, laptop, and PDA.  Supplies lists of parts and supplies for order.  Responds to emergency breakdowns and callbacks to assist.  Performs tasks of facilities maintenance technician.  Other duties may be assigned.

Skills required:  High school diploma or GED.  Minimum of three years experience in  maintenance and repair of HVAC systems, with a good working knowledge of hot water and low pressure steam boilers and chilled water conditioning equipment.  Must be proficient in a Windows computer environment.  Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and meet and maintain Federal security requirements for access into all operations areas.

Summary:  Performs a wide variety of tasks involved in airfield and grounds maintenance.

Duties include: performs routine & non routine inspection and maintenance of airfield and airport grounds; operates heavy equipment including dump trucks, snow plows, blowers, brooms, loaders, graders, mowers, crack sealers, paint stripers, jack hammers, compressors, forklifts and pavement cutters; maintains airport grounds, runways, taxiways, and ramps; attends necessary training to operate equipment, snow removal, emergency operations and safety procedures.

CURBSIDE MONITOR – PART TIME

 A vacancy currently exists for the position of Traffic Monitor.

Summary:  Ensures safe and secure vehicle and pedestrian traffic operations at the terminal frontage roadway and regulatory compliance at loading dock area.

Duties:  Duties include:  continuous patrol of roadway and pedestrian walkways; prevents the parking of unattended vehicles; monitors commercial vehicle access; controls vehicle speeds for safe traffic flow; assists with passenger inquiries; makes notification to Airport Operations of
