TRAFFIC  MONITOR  - PART TIME

A vacancy currently exists for the position of Traffic Monitor.

Summary:  Ensures safe and secure vehicle and pedestrian traffic operations at the terminal frontage roadway and regulatory compliance at loading dock area.

Duties include:  Continuous patrol of roadway and pedestrian walkways; prevents the parking of unattended vehicles; monitors commercial vehicle access; controls vehicle speeds for safe traffic flow; assists with passenger inquiries; makes notification to Airport Operations of

Conditions posing a threat to safety; conducts periodic foot patrols of employee and public parking areas; logs loading dock deliveries; inspects delivery of products for regulatory compliance.

Skills required:  Applicant must possess a high school diploma or GED or one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education & experience.  Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment physical; drug and alcohol screening; background check and must meet and maintain Federal security requirements for access into operations areas.

Airport Operations Officer

One vacancy currently exists in the Airport Operations/Security Department for the entry level position of Airport Operations Officer.

Summary: Under the supervision and direction of the airport operations supervisor(s) the airport operations officer will ensure airport compliance with FAR Part 139, CFR 1542, as well as other state and local regulations. The Operations Officers primary duty is to ensure operational safety and security of the facility.

Duties and skills required include:  The position requires coordinating the inspection and maintenance in the air operations area (AOA) and terminal complex while ensuring compliance with FAA and TSA Regulations.  Researching, preparing, and presenting oral and written reports for official investigations.  Responds to damage, injury, and other miscellaneous incidents and occurrences, collects information needed to prepare reports for use by management staff.  Assists with enforcing noise abatement programs including: receiving, managing, and documenting noise complaints.  Performs other operations related duties and handles special project assignments.  The applicant must be comfortable working in a dynamic and fast paced environment requiring multi-tasking skills.  Must be computer savvy, including working with PC’s in the windows environment. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment physical, drug and alcohol screening, background check and must be able to meet and maintain Federal security requirements for unescorted access into all operations areas.  A valid state driver’s license is required as a condition of employment. The position requires shift work and union membership is required.

Preferred qualifications:  Associates Degree is preferred.  A private pilot’s license/or prior work experience in the field of aviation is a plus.

Wage:  15.69/hour

FACILITIES MAINTENANCE SPECIALTY- HVAC  TECHNICIAN

Wage:   $19.62

A vacancy currently exists in the Facilities Maintenance Department for the position of one full time Facilities Maintenance Technician- HVAC

Summary:  Maintains and repairs HVAC systems.

Duties and skills required include:  

Must be able to meet and maintain Federal security requirements for unescorted access into all operations areas.  A valid NYS state driver’s license is required as a condition of employment.
Performs daily operational checks of HVAC systems and monitors BAS controls.
Informs HVAC Mechanic of deficiencies found during daily operational checks or problems with the BAS control system
Performs preventive maintenance on the systems as specified in the preventive maintenance schedule to ensure efficient operations.
Makes necessary repairs and adjustments as directed by the HVAC Mechanic
Assists HVAC Mechanic with preventive maintenance and repairs as directed.
Document all repairs and preventive maintenance work.
Supplies HVAC Mechanic with lists of needed parts and supplies.
Maintains parts and supplies inventory for HVAC systems.
Troubleshoots problems and makes adjustments using both main computer terminal, laptop (if available) and PDA.
Responds to emergency breakdown callbacks to assist HVAC Mechanic.
Performs the tasks of a Building Maintenance Worker as required.
Participates in Total Quality Management programs.

Qualifications: High School diploma or general education degree (GED) with a minimum of three years of experience in maintenance and repair systems. Must be proficient in a Windows computer environment.

CASHIER – PART TIME

Vacancies exist in the Commercial Services Department for the entry level position of cashier.

Summary:  Receives cash and credit card payments from parking patrons at the Airport.

Duties and skills required include:  Applicants must possess a valid NYS drivers license and a high school diploma or GED.  Employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre- employment physical, drug and alcohol screening, background and credit checks.

Cash drawer accountability; shift flexibility, assist parking patrons.  Must be available for all shifts, all days including holidays.

Wage:  $12.51/hr plus shift differential

AIRPORT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN/Airfield Maintenance  

A vacancy currently exists in the Airfield Maintenance Department for the position of Airport Maintenance Technician – Airfield Maintenance.

Summary:  Performs a wide variety of tasks involved in airfield and grounds maintenance.

Duties include:  performs routine & non routine inspection and maintenance of airfield and airport grounds; operates heavy equipment including dump trucks, snow plows, blowers, brooms, loaders, graders, mowers, crack sealers, paint stripers, jack hammers, compressors, forklifts and pavement cutters; maintains airport grounds, runways, taxiways, and ramps; attends necessary training to operate equipment, snow removal, emergency operations and safety procedures.

Skills required:  Applicant must possess a high school diploma or GED and ground maintenance work or related experience; must have prior experience in the use of hand & power tools and demonstrated ability to operate a wide variety of heavy equipment.  Must possess a valid NYS driver’s license and must be able to obtain a CDL, Class B license within ninety days of employment.  Must be able to meet and maintain Federal security requirements for unescorted access into all operations areas. 

Wage:  $14.40

PrimeFlight Aviation is seeking qualified individuals to assist passengers at Albany International Airport. Duties include carrying passengers’ carry-on luggage, providing wheelchair assistance and assisting them to the airline gates and baggage claim area.
